BIOGRAPHY
Jan Spindler grew up in Graubünden, Switzerland, and completed his medical studies at the Universities of Fribourg and Bern. After graduating in 2017, he spent seven months as a research fellow with Prof. Dr. med. J. G. Garweg and wrote his thesis. He then worked for over two years at the Clinic for General, Visceral, Endocrine and Transplant Surgery at the Cantonal Hospital of St. Gallen and Rorschach under the direction of Prof. Bruno Schmied, MD. He began his specialist training as an ophthalmologist at the University Eye Hospital in Zurich under Prof. Dr. Dr. med. Barthelmes, where he worked for three years. He passed his board exam in May 2024. Jan Spindler has been a member of the team at the Bern Eye Center since July 2024.
